-About the design
The Tale of the Heike: Volume 7, Chikubushimamoude Pilgrimage
The “Hibi” is the 8th day of the 8th month of the Uzuki calendar. The wisteria waves are coming off the pine trees, and it is truly interesting to see the scenery of this island.

-Episodes in the making of MORINORI
Estimating Something Invisible
This time, I designed a scene in which the Lord Kyomasa visited Chikubushima from his Chikubushimamoude pilgrimage. In Heikyoku, the scene is represented by a section of music that produces a high pitch sound called “sanju,” and since my voice does not yet sound right, I am practicing hard to sound like the bush warbler in the song. As I say the words out loud and hear the sounds, I naturally begin to imagine the scenery and feelings. For me, this song nurtures my imagination to infer something unseen. Chikubushimamoude ends with Kyosho-sama leaving Chikubushima, so I often feel lonely when I practice. I have the strange feeling that I am on the island side, watching over the departing Kyosho-sama, as if I have entered into a story. Ah, the little boat is getting lost in the mist.
